19662 (2024). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: What are the frontline benefits of the Tactical Response Model?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that the Tactical Response Model system was designed following extensive consultation with Police’s frontline officers, internal police staff and external stakeholders across the community.
The six short term outcomes for this programme are:
• Enhanced proactive and faster reactive response.
• Frontline staff and their whānau feel safer.
• Reduced likelihood of harm during response (reduction in risk to Police).
• Frontline staff have more confidence in their training, equipment and support.
• Frontline staff have access to insights and data to enable them to anticipate and avoid risk of serious injury or threat to life.
• Frontline staff have the equipment and training to enable them to respond and to keep themselves safer.
