19651 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: What, if any, was the rationale for creating Tākai from the Strategies with Kids – Information for Parents (SKIP) programme?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that the creation of Tākai was to better support the strategic vision ‘Kia matua rautia – a thriving village raising children together’ and followed consultation with key stakeholders who supported a wider whānau approach. Previously the focus was providing parents with support.
