19628 (2026). Hon Willie Jackson to the Minister of Education: Did she speak with, or seek advice from, the New Zealand Qualifications Authority before going on the QnA show over the weekend, to confirm that NZQA does not have a "Treaty duty" as she suggests, and if so, did they advise her that according to the NZQA website, NZQA are comitted to honoring Te Tiriti which means that they will co-design products, processes and initiatives with iwi, hapū and Māori and make sure Māori interests are advanced, amongest other actions?
Hon Erica Stanford: I was referring to discussions with officials who informed me that NZQA, and other Crown agents, do not have the same duties as school boards did under Section 127 despite being closer to the Crown.
