19619 (2024). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Which Community Housing Providers has he contracted, if any, to fulfil the Prime Minister's commitment to building 1,000 additional social houses in Auckland this year?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that there are a number of Community Housing Providers contracted to deliver social housing projects in Auckland this year, with more contracts to be finalised from the pipeline of opportunities. I am further advised that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development will continue to work with providers on social housing opportunities and funding for these new places means this work can continue. Criteria for the new places will be refined to better meet the need in different locations including supporting a reduction in emergency housing. The Ministry will communicate revised criteria to Community Housing Providers by 30 June 2024.
