19602 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Transport: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning 28 April with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and how many roles are affected?
Hon James Meager: I have been advised that in the week beginning 28 April, two consultation documents were announced by Maritime New Zealand; 1. Technical Advice and Support (TAS) Group The proposal is to move the TAS group into the Regulatory Frameworks group. Total of 18 positions are affected – three positions to be disestablished and 15 positions have changes in teams/reporting manager. Two new positions are included in the proposed structure. TAS has a total of 27 positions; subject to the final decision this will be 26. 2. Regulatory Operations Group The proposal is to merge the Regulatory Licensing and Regulatory Operations Planning Practice and Notifications functions within the Regulatory Operations group. Total of 12 positions are affected – four positions to be disestablished and eight positions changing their reporting manager. Four new positions are included in the proposed structure. Regulatory Operations group has a total of 50 positions; subject to the final decision this will be 49. Consultation with affected employees is underway and will close on 13 May 2025.
