19524 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What is the total number of young offenders (aged 18-25), if any, in each prison over the last 6 quarters to 31 March 2025?

Hon Mark Mitchell: Corrections manages people at the direction of the Courts and the New Zealand Parole Board. Corrections does not decide who is in prison and who is in the community, which is a matter for the Courts and New Zealand Parole Board. I refer the member to the attached table, which provides the total number of sentenced and remand prisoners aged 25 and under, for the last six quarters by prison site.
