19522 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for young offenders (aged 18-25), if any, have been discontinued or have had funding discontinued since November 2023?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that the reintegration component of Te Whare Hāpai Tangata, delivered by St John of God Trust, will not be renewed beyond 30 June 2025 and no new Te Whare Hāpai Tangata rehabilitation programmes will be delivered from January 2025. I am further advised that the Snapback Gym Incorporated delivery of Youth Mentoring and Boxing Manawatu, which is a community-based programme in Manawatū, will end on 30 June 2025. I am further advised that no other rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for young offenders have been discontinued since November 2023.
