Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Further to Reply 17201 (2026), how many road crashes involving members of the cohort were recorded in the Crash Analysis System for the full period from 4 January 2023 to 31 January 2025; and if that information remains withheld on the grounds of prejudicing the maintenance of the law, which specific individuals or proceedings does that concern relate to?

Hon Chris Bishop: NZTA advises that, between 4 January 2023 and 31 January 2025, 36 road crashes involving individuals within this cohort were recorded in the Crash Analysis System. NZTA does not hold definitive information on the current investigative status of individual crash events. This information would be held by NZ Police.
