19460 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Further to Reply 17201 (2026), what categories of non-compliance were recorded in the actions taken against the 77 vehicles; and were any of those non-compliance findings related to the driver's licence class or endorsement status rather than the mechanical or operational condition of the vehicle?
Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the non-compliance actions were taken against vehicles, and none of these related to the driver’s licence class or endorsement status. I am advised by NZTA that 123 faults are recorded for the 77 vehicles. The fault categories and numbers within each category are as follows:
• Ball-race Turntables: 1
• Brakes: 18
• Cab, Chassis and Body: 16
• Fluid Leaks: 5
• Fuel Systems: 1
• Lighting: 28
• Load Anchorage: 5
• Mudguards: 4
• PSV Cab, Chassis and Body: 1
• PSV Wheels and Tyres: 4
• Suspension: 4
• Tow Couplings and 5th Wheel: 2
• Vision: 10
• Wheels and Tyres: 24
