19454 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Further to Reply 5308 (2026), did the Minister specifically inform the Minister of Police of the fraudulent overseas licence conversions; if so, on what date and by what means; and if not, what was the reason?

Hon Chris Bishop: No. NZTA undertakes regular audits of overseas driver licence conversions and informs relevant enforcement agencies, such as NZ Police and Immigration NZ (via MBIE), of any issues where appropriate. NZ Police and Immigration NZ are responsible for briefing their respective Ministers as required.
