19431 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What factors contributed to the increase in offender-related contingent liabilities between 30 June 2025 and 31 December 2025?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that the factors which contributed to an increase in offender-related contingent liabilities between 30 June 2025 and 31 December 2025 are the number of claims made against Corrections, the number of people involved in bringing those claims, and the scale and scope of the claim, including the length of the relevant time-period and the number and significance of the issues under challenge.
