19344 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: What steps, if any, are being taken to manage the Ministry of Social Development's workload to prevent situations in the future where programmes, such as phase one of the early interventions work on emergency housing, are discontinued due to capacity issues?
Hon Tama Potaka: The Ministry of Social Development has advised me that as part of their normal processes, they regularly review their work programme to ensure they continue to meet expectations. This includes ensuring that programmes are aligned to government priorities and that the programmes are continuing to deliver value. Where necessary, some initiatives may be paused, stopped or deferred. As with any agency, programmes of work need to be managed within available resources and provide the expected value.
