19339 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Why did Oranga Tamariki not conduct an internal review or analysis of the incident whereby a second Oranga Tamariki military-style academy pilot participant absconded in December 2024?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that the actions taken were in accordance with the standard processes Oranga Tamariki has in place for this type of event, and the care and placement status of this individual. The circumstances of which were different to a prior absconding incident that resulted in an internal review.
