19252 (2025). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Prime Minister: What was the average salary for a person employed in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet as at 28 March 2025?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is a departmental agency hosted by DPMC. I am advised that the average base salary for a person employed in DPMC is $142,223.00 and for NEMA is $135,767.00 as at 31 March 2025.
