Tamatha Paul to the Associate Minister of Housing: Further to his reply to Question 15834 (2025), how often has the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development surveyed private landlords regarding compliance with the Healthy Homes Standards since the Healthy Homes Standards were introduced?

Hon Tama Potaka: Since the introduction of the Healthy Homes Standards, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (the Ministry) has commissioned four Healthy Homes Guarantee Act Monitoring Reports, conducted by Verian. These surveys, carried out annually from 2020 to 2024, specifically asked private landlords about their efforts to prepare their rental properties to meet the requirements of the Healthy Homes Standards more fully. The Ministry is exploring the possibility of future monitoring to better understand compliance with the Healthy Homes Standards and support landlords in meeting the requirements.
