19175 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: How much, if any, of the $150 million Community Housing Funding Agency lending facility has been drawn down as at the most recent reporting date?

Hon Chris Bishop: The lending to Community Housing Funding Agency (CHFA) is a standby facility of up to $150 million. This amount is committed by the Crown, and is available to CHFA for the purpose of meeting unprecedented and temporary liquidity shortfalls. Any amounts drawdown by CHFA are expected to be repaid within 12 months. This standby facility is designed to be complementary to CHFA’s commercial lending facilities, not a replacement to them. The Government provided CHFA an interim lending facility of $100 million in April 2025 to support immediate financing needs for Community Housing Providers, until the standby facility was established. This interim lending facility was repaid in full, including interest, in April 2026. There are currently no drawdowns against the Crown standby facility.
