Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Tertiary Education: Which business divisions at New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology, if any, have requested to deliver provision beyond 105% of their approved funding allocation in 2026, listed by business division and percentage requested?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) funds the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (NZIST), and not individual business divisions. As such, the business divisions do not have an individual allocation and as such cannot seek or be granted approval to over-deliver. I am advised by the TEC that NZIST, as at 13 May 2026, has not requested to deliver provision above 105% of its current allocation in 2026.
