19129 (2026). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister of Climate Change: Has the government projected the carbon price for each year to 2035 since the detailed results for ERP2 projection scenarios dated December 2024 were released, and if so, what are the projected prices?
Hon Simon Watts: Yes, the Government regularly updates its projected carbon prices, mostly notably during the annual ETS unit and price control settings update and as an input assumption into official emissions projections. The Ministry for the Environment also routinely publishes the ETS Market Model that is used to generate price projections.
The information below shows the central carbon price assumptions used in the 2025 central emissions projections that were published in October 2025. As with any price projection they are subject to a high degree of uncertainty and should be treated with caution.
