Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Is there a role in the Public Defence Service of Junior Lawyer (Appeals); if so, is it considered to be a support or management role and is it proposed that it be disestablished under the change proposal which is currently being consulted on?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that there is a role in the Public Defence Service of Junior Lawyer (Appeals). This is neither a support nor management role. It is proposed that two of these positions will be disestablished.
