19066 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Justice: How much funding has the Electoral Comission allocated towards lifting Maori electoral participation in the 2026 General Election, if any?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the total budget for the Māori Electoral Option is $5.9m. This includes all costs relating to the enrolment update campaign, additional enrolment processing staff, advertising costs, community engagement costs, as well as resources to support public enquiries. Other costs associated with lifting Māori electoral participation are embedded in the overall General Election campaign and other funding for enrolment and voting services and is unable to be split out.
