Hon Chris Bishop: No. NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi’s (NZTA) SH1/87 Optimisation Improvement project was identified through ongoing monitoring of traffic conditions and land use growth. NZTA is required to consider lower cost improvement options to get the most out of the existing network before any larger scale options are considered.
