18887 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: How many, if any, referrals for older persons mental health, did Health New Zealand decline in the Southern region in 2025?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that 303 of the 8,857 referrals for older persons mental health in Canterbury district were declined in 2025. I am further advised that this data is not currently available for the other Southern region districts. Health New Zealand is developing national reporting systems which will make this information accessible in the future.
