18856 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Education: How many students, if any, currently board at hostels in public schools?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that as at 1 March 2026, there were 6,039 students recorded as boarders. The number of boarders is supplied directly by schools and is not independently verified by the Ministry.
