18743 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Further to 5259 (2026), will additional specialist input be procured in the second Oranga Tamariki Military-Style Academy to continue consistent therapeutic support once participants are in the community; if so, what is the nature of this support?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that the transition planning for each young person will include an assessment by the clinical team of what therapeutic care is required in the community. The Military-Style Academy clinical team will then provide ongoing clinical care in the community, building on the content delivered during the residential phase. If additional or different therapeutic care needs are identified during the community phase, procurement of those services will be sought.
