18715 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Further to Reply 17213 (2026), was the six-month period between the detection of potential fraud in February 2025 and the formal notification of NZ Police on 1 August 2025 the result of a deliberate decision to withhold notification until a particular stage of NZTA's internal process had been reached; and if so, what was that stage, and was this decision documented?

Hon Chris Bishop: No. I am advised by NZTA that the formal notification to Police was made in August 2025, following the confirmation of fraud in July 2025.
