18712 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Further to Reply 17203 (2026), which individual or individuals within NZTA, identified by position title, made the decision that no enforcement action would be taken against the individual referred to in Reply 13171 (2026) prior to that individual being permitted to obtain a new licence; and was that decision documented?
Hon Chris Bishop: As outlined in my response to Written Question 18710 (2026), NZTA revoked the individual’s licence as an enforcement action and later reinstated it with a suspension condition applied. This decision was made by NZTA’s Head of Regulatory Performance, Risk and Insights, who held the Director of Land Transport’s delegations for making the decisions relating to clauses 77 and 82 of the Land Transport (Driver Licensing Rule) 1999 and section 29 of the Land Transport Act 1998.
