18634 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Universities: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter July to September 2024 to expand access to scholarships and hardship support for Pacific learners?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that there is a range of support for Pacific learners. For scholarships, there is information available online include on the Careers NZ website: www.careers.govt.nz/courses/scholarships/scholarships-for-pacific-learners, New Zealand Government: www.govt.nz/browse/education/tertiary-education/scholarships-grants-and-awards/, and individual tertiary education institute websites. If students have urgent or unexpected costs, they may be eligible for emergency assistance through MSD www.studylink.govt.nz/in-study/urgent-costs/index.html.
