18593 (2026). Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: For the most recent granny flat exemption, will the proposed Order in Council be released in draft form for industry feedback; if so, when and how?

Hon Chris Penk: There are no plans to release a draft Order in Council for industry feedback. The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment undertook targeted engagement in April 2026, including seeking feedback on how the changes proposed to be progressed by Order in Council could be reflected in legislation.
