18564 (2026). Lan Pham to the Associate Minister for the Environment: What, if anything, is the Minister's intention for the role of catchment groups in the new farm plan system?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: Freshwater farm plans will be a key tool within the new planning system, helping farmers identify environmental risks on their farm and then plan practical actions to manage these. Farmer-led catchment groups are already improving water quality and land management in their local communities and will continue to support their members with the tools and outreach that are relevant to their needs.
