18486 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: Why were there fewer constabulary staff working in Prevention at Counties Manukau in March 2026 compared to October 2023?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I refer the Member to the attached table, which shows the active constabulary full-time equivalent (FTE) staff member for the Counties Manukau Prevention team between 31 October 2023 and 31 March 2026. The reduction in Prevention FTEs over this period reflects the reallocation of staff from the Prevention group back into other areas within the Counties Manukau District as part of organisational and deployment changes. These changes affected how staff were grouped and reported, rather than the overall number of constabulary staff in the district. The total constabulary FTE for Counties Manukau District as a whole did not decline between 31 October 2023 and 31 March 2026. This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Question 18487 (2026).
