18380 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: What advice, if any, did the Prime Minister request around splitting the portfolio of tertiary education into the "universities" and "vocational education" portfolios?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I regularly request and receive advice from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) on matters relating to my Prime Minister portfolio including the establishment of ministerial portfolios. I received high level advice from the Cabinet Office, a business unit of DPMC, on the creation and description of these portfolios.
