Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Transport: What consultations did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, open on the week beginning 7 April with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and how many roles were affected?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that in the week beginning 7 April 2025, the Ministry of Transport began consultation with employees in the Urban Development and Public Transport team. 10 roles are proposed to be affected by the proposed changes. I am advised that NZTA commenced a consultation process with its part-time after-hours team in the Contact Centre. Within the scope of change, there are 8 roles (4.4 FTE) that would be impacted.
