18362 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Energy

18362 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Energy: What consultations did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, open on the week beginning 7 April with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and how many roles were affected?
Hon Simon Watts: "As Minister of Energy, I have no responsibility for any government departments or Ministries. In respect of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I refer the Member to the Minister for Economic Growth’s answer to written parliamentary question 18361 (2025). With regard to Crown entities under the energy portfolio, I am advised that on 9 April, EECA commenced a proposed organisational change process for consultation with employees. This includes proposed changes to roles and numbers. The proposed changes impact 50 roles, with a combination of proposed disestablishments, reassignments and redeployments.
For the EA this response assumes that “affected roles” means roles being disestablished. I am advised that six roles are proposed to be disestablished, however these shouldn’t result in redundancy as there are 10 new roles proposed, which would be available for reassignment. This is at consultation stage at time of writing, so no final decisions have been made."
