18299 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: Has any disciplinary action, training, or internal review, if any, been undertaken in response to MSD staff issuing tents or camping equipment as emergency housing since 27 November 2023?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am unable to comment on the matters raised by the member as they fall within the purview of the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry). I have been advised by the Ministry that frontline staff received additional training on the emergency housing eligibility changes introduced in August 2024. I am also advised that the Ministry does not consider a tent an adequate solution to an urgent housing need.
