18286 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Associate Minister of Education: How, if at all, was the advice provided to schools about seeking reimbursement for school lunches provided out of their own pocket?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that it is assisting all schools with reimbursement for the cost of the purchase of additional food items due to delivery challenges. Advice about how to seek reimbursement was provided to schools directly via email and is publicly available on the Ka Ora, Ka Ako web portal: https://kaorakaako.education.govt.nz/working-together/new-model/term-1-2025-update#reimbursement-information The process for schools to seek reimbursement for the cost of purchasing meals due to late or non-delivery of lunches is the same used in previous iterations of the programme.
