18255 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Associate Minister of Education: How many, if any, school lunches were wasted during the week of March 31st 2025, expressed as an overall number?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that, for the week of 31 March 2025, 50,390 meals (8.97 percent) were not eaten by students and returned to the School Lunch Collective production kitchens across the country. Internal schools and iwi/hapū meal providers manage their own waste. This is reported at the end of each term. This information is not currently available.
