18254 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Associate Minister of Education: How many, if any, school lunches were wasted during the week of April 7th 2025, expressed as an overall number?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that, for the week of 7 April 2025, 47,079 meals (7.72 percent) were not eaten by students and returned to the School Lunch Collective production kitchens across the country. Internal schools and iwi/hapū meal providers manage their own waste. This is reported at the end of each term. This information is not currently available.
