18230 (2026). Vanushi Walters to the Prime Minister: Did the Prime Minister, or any official acting on his behalf, communicate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs or his office a preference for New Zealand to offer more explicit public support for the US-led military action against Iran; if so, on what dates and in what form was that preference communicated?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: The government’s position has been clearly laid out, including via a joint public statement from the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs on 1 March, and my Parliamentary Statement on 3 March. As Prime Minister, my office, my department, and I are in regular contact with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and his staff regarding matters relating to the foreign affairs portfolio including on Iran.
