18216 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: What processes are in place to review and escalate incorrect emergency housing decisions made at the frontline level, if any, and how often are these triggered?
Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that where people disagree with the Ministry’s decision, including to decline emergency housing grants, there are a number of avenues open to clients to contest those decisions including, the formal Review of Decision process, which provides a level of external scrutiny over the Ministry’s decision making.
