18187 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: What feedback or advice, if any, has she received from industry bodies about Workforce Development Councils, by date and title?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I received submissions from a large number of people, including industry bodies, via the Ministry of Education’s consultation process on the future of the Vocational Education and Training system between 31 July and 11 September 2024. This consultation covered the future of standards setting, including the proposal to disestablish Workforce Development Councils (WDCs). I received a further email the week of 21 April from a group of industry people regarding funding for WDC.
