18171 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for ACC: What is the full actuarial methodology and assumptions, behind the proposed changes to Accident Compensation Corporation motorcycle levies; by whom, and when?

Hon Scott Simpson: The actuarial methodology and all assumptions are detailed in the pricing report which was released publicly as part of the consultation process - www.shapeyouracc.co.nz/assets/Consult-docs/2024/20240630-Pricing-Report-2026-2028-Motor-Vehicles-Account-final.pdf. I am advised that the actuarial methodology and assumptions are determined by ACC’s Chief Actuary. The appropriateness of both the methodology and the assumptions is considered as part of the pricing basis prior to each consultation.
