18158 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Regulation: Why was a new standalone Ministry for Regulation created rather than investing in or reforming existing regulatory bodies, and what formal evaluations were conducted to justify this structural decision, if any?

Hon David Seymour: The Ministry for Regulation was established as a central agency to drive a cross-government approach to regulatory reform. Previous attempts to utilize existing agencies failed to achieve the singular focus that is required.
