Vanushi Walters to the Minister of Finance: Did any discussions regarding the treatment of New Zealand citizens in US immigration proceedings took place during the Finance Minister's recent visit to Washington DC for the International Monetary Fund and World Bank spring meetings in April 2026?

Hon Nicola Willis: No, because I was there to talk to international counterparts, about the economic impacts of, and responses to, the fuel crisis resulting from the Iran war, as well as US trade policy. I did not meet with anyone from ICE or the Department of Justice with responsibility for this matter.
