18112 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Rail: What is the expected timeline, if any, for any decision on the future ownership structure of the Interislander service?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: Decisions were taken at the outset of this programme. Interislander ferries will be owned by the taxpayer. Port asset funded by the taxpayer will be owned by the taxpayer will be owned by the taxpayer. Port assets funded by the ports will be owned by the ports.
