18008 (2026). Vanushi Walters to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: How many New Zealand citizens have been denied entry to the United States since 20 January 2025?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade does not hold a standalone figure for the number of New Zealand citizens "denied entry" to the United States. Between 20 January 2025 and 5 May 2026, 60 New Zealand citizens have sought the Ministry's assistance as a result of experiencing immigration difficulties in the US. This includes issues experienced at the border (including being denied entry), immigration difficulties in the community, and immigration detention cases.
