Hon Chris Bishop: We can’t rush into making blanket changes. Any temporary changes to heavy vehicle regulations need to balance the wider impacts on safety and the road network. We need to carefully consider advice and ensure all costs and benefits are weighed up appropriately. This is not something that can be done overnight, but we are running an expedited process so that we can provide certainty to the sector as soon as possible.
