17991 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Does he agree with Transporting New Zealand CEO Dom Kalasih's assessment that "we shouldn't be waiting for things to get bad before we actually do things that make sense"; if not, why not?

Hon Chris Bishop: As I have stated publicly, we are looking at sensible changes that can be made to lift productivity. However, we need to carefully balance this with safety and network impacts. We have a lot of work underway to make sure any changes we implement actually make sense.
