Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Has the Government assessed the impact of the proposed weight limit increases on single-lane bridges and weight-restricted structures on Regional and Primary Collector routes; if so, how many structures would require upgrading or load-posting, and at what estimated cost?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Government is considering a range of options and final decisions have not yet been made. Safety assessments are a critical factor for consideration before any changes to Rules would be finalised.
