Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) requires suppliers to be prequalified at the relevant level in the ’Bridge and Structure construction’ category for all type of bridge works. However, where there is a genuine reason, such as where a third party goes to market on NZTAs behalf, it may not rely on the prequalification.
