17948 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: What are the year-to-date savings for 2025/26 for Kāinga Ora houses delivered using the Housing Delivery System compared to traditional development?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities tracks its build cost efficiencies through its quarterly performance scorecard: - https://kaingaora.govt.nz/en_NZ/publications/tracking-our-performance/. In 2023/24 financial year the cost per square metre was $3,473. This has fallen to $3,159 in the third quarter of the 2025/26 financial year.
